• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What do you guys think of this special?

I couldn't get past the stoptail position. This one looks too far gone to invest the time or the money. I would say find a better guitar unless you plan to enjoy it as it is now.

I foolishly knocked 550£ off the asking price and the seller accepted it.

To be quite honest I'm not even sure whether the guitar is authentic.

Anyway selling price is 1700£. Any thoughts?

MORE PICS THEN!

At work, so I haven't been able to reply to the seller yet. I was also waiting for you guys to validate it :p but then I went stupid and actually placed an offer on the guitar.

I'll get around to it later today, and post some pics as soon as it gets here.

I feel really bad about it, but I had to skip, I'm sure it's a great player's guitar, but it was in much worse condition then I expected.

Lesson learned, next time I'll be a little less trigger happy.

Since the seller is in England, why not try out the guitar for 24 hrs before snuffing the deal? Those pickups may be valuable. You should examine the guitar with the pickguard removed, and the pot cavity.

I did get to see the routing, the seller was quite cool about it, and he showed me all the details I asked for. No complaints in that department, but it was not the right guitar for me.

You did the right thing returning it if u didn't get the "keeper" vibe, issues-guitars can be a pita to sell
if you want a quick deal.

It could have been a nice guitar, I'm sure, but it does need some loving care.

Hi everybody,

i am new here and come from Germany. I was reading here for some time now and today I registered because I would like to share that I bought the Guitar that is discussed here in this thread.

The seller also sent me lots of pictures and I can understand riscado not buying it but after some mails we had an agreement.

My my plan is to give it to a professional for restoration. Maybe Florian Jäger. The seller will sent it on friday so it will arrive next week.

Cant await it! Its my first real vintage Les Paul. The only Vintage Gibson I already own ist a 1965 Firebird I.

Ok,

here are some photos I got from the seller. I think these are photos from the american store he bought it from.
I will do some own pictures when it arrives next week:

Congrats, like I said, the guitar has potential, it was just a little bit more routed then I was initially waiting for, but still a great buy, and the seller seemed to be a very reasonable person.

I'm glad someone bought it, as I looked at it a lot more times after my initial decision : )

Are you keeping it with the humbuckers on?
