what a joke, gibson is shooting themselves in the foot with this shit, i would rather them not make many guitar than mass produce laminated rosewood, particle board, and baked maple fretboards.
At NAMM they are citing "North American Rosewood" for some of their fingerboards. They say it's the same plant from Brazil, grown in Florida, it seems.
Just heard 3rd hand (Gibson rep to a another to me) that the Historic Reissues will be affected by this - R9s, R0s, R8s, etc. Signature and aged guitars too. Word is this will affect all guitars done by Gibson "even the big ones - signatures."
