• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Greg Koch and I have twins!!!

Nice red guitars. Charlie, I don't know what number that is on your guitar, but a SSN has only 9 digits with no prefix.
Maybe Gary E. knew what that number signified. Did he add the 'E' and mess with the number of digits??? Who knows....
the worst example of this type of abuse was a 1958 ES-5 with the owner's Texas driver's license number scratched in to that beautiful trapeze tailpiece.

First gibson I ever bought was an original red-top '52, scored it in '70 from Dan Armstrong's shop in the village (NY). Opaque red, similar shade to the OP guitars-

I had a '52 in that same red but it was no where near as cool, Scott Lentz made it look much better.
