Led Zeppelin 1969. I believe it was the first US tour. You could buy the album at the door.
Humble Pie, August 26, 1972 at the Sam Houston Coliseum. I don't remember who the warmup band was and Frampton was already gone. This was the 'Smokin" tour and Marriot and Clem Clempson did a great job. Awesome first concert.
Pat,I bet that was cool. Steve Marriott, to me, was the best rock frontman of that era. Smokin' is a great record too.
My first concert was March of 1984, Motley Crue and Ozzy.
First was on April 16, 1971; Ten Years After with Cactus and Humble Pie opening at Boston Garden. :dude: I had just got my license or was about to so I went to a lot of shows from then on. In May of '71 was Mountain with Mylon opening at Hampton Beach Casino. The Who at The Music Hall in June. Led Zeppelin at the Garden the night before I began my senior year of HS. The summer afternoon I drove in to get tickets for LZ, Alice Cooper was playing on the Boston Common for a buck. He played the whole "Love It To Death" Album". Mountain with Black Oak Arkansas maybe in December at the Orpheum.
This one -- the Beatles at Tad Gormley (City Park) Stadium - New Orleans in 1964.
I was in the 5th grade, and the girl across the street had a birthday party -- two station wagons full of kids and moms. Unforgettable experience now that I look back.:ganz
