Anyone own any Fenders finished with the Sparkle/Glitter paint? A blue sparkled Tele at the Philly guitar show peaked my interest in this finish.

I just lacquered a Strat body in Black Gold which I'm calling Texas Tea that will be ready to rub out next week. I used black lacquer as my base color, dusted it with Gold Top Gold then cleared it. These pictures are of it right after it received its first coat of clear to melt the gold into the black. It is going to be a killer looking guitar.

Nice!
I have a late seventies Boogie Bodies Strat neck that was factory-finished in black, and I was planning on having a body refinished in
Charcoal Frost, but that's an even nicer alternative.
Not too many finishes complement an all-black (with ebony 'board) neck!

I've got a gold sparkle Masterbuilt '64 reissue...I've also got a one-off Tom Murphy silver metal flake Les Paul, but of course I can't post it here in the Fender section!

There's a left handed, "Metallic Red" '64 Strat at a local shop here. INSANELY rare guitar. All original too. I'll some pics of it and put them up.

Please do! Tonar that finish is superb, looks really great. And Skhan I like the checking on yours it reminds me of ice cracking.

Some of the hardest to find Strats in the world are in this European collection. There are a few sparkle stats in there i think.

Matte Henderson posted these awhile back in another thread... Scalloped, 24 fret 7 string Strats originally made for "Maestro" Alex Gregory (but that's another story: http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?193338-Maestro-Alex-Gregory-Signature-R9 )

i've been playing 7 strings since 1989.

here's my extended range strat.

alex is a good guy.

he has done more for the solid body 7 string world than anyone else i know.

he's the only cat i know that could talk fender into building a 7 string scalloped board 24 fret strat.

i have been trying (without any success) to get him to part with this fiesta sparkle strat.

A friend has a gold sparkle Strat that I adore. I hope he gives me first refusal if he ever wants to sell it. So nice and NashVegas! :dude:

Original Pre CBS Red Sparkle Strat I sold back in 2007. I bought it unseen from South Africa. Turned out to be a great guitar. One of the coolest I've had.:jim
