I like the CB's myself but still i have to at least try a set of the Dingwall P.A.F's after hearing them on clips. I understand a YT clip is going to be very compressed and not a great
representation of the actual sound but that is what intrigued me, if those Dingwall's sound that good on a YT clip then in person they will sound even better
Phil Harris is a well known burst collector/owner who has played hundred's of Burst' and he needed a set of Peter green Pu's for his "Greenie" replica and the Dingwall's sounded the closest to the real set he said? In this vid he plays his other replica not his Greenie but is using the same pu's ,

It should have TTop replicas instead of PAF replicas right? Short A5 magnets…different wire and bobbins instead of the A3 etc

68 Reissues get something called the "68 Custom Humbucker" which Gibson does not sell apart from the guitar. I've never seen them reviewed or otherwise described.

I imagine they might be sorta T-Top replicas, although Gibson USA does indeed produce "T-Types" as their sorta T-Top replica... They do not have 'T' on the bobbins, and have a few tweaks which has led to the name change. They come in the new ES line.

Could be they are the same or similar apart from the name?

Just got a newer CME 58 RI with a V2 neck. The guitar is a smidge over 9lbs and with the stock Custombucker pickups, Lord have mercy. They sound great to me, and surprisingly even though they’re low wind 7.11 and 7.19 K they sound every bit as punchy and loud and articulate as the 7.8k CBs in my 2020 R9. I also recently played a 2014 Historic with stock Custombuckers that went 7.94k and they sounded thin, weakest of the 3 guitars and lacked low end punch. It seems these pickups have evolved.
