I’ve recently come across a few where the back of the neck and body were bursted. But not the headstock. The cynic and skeptic in me defaults to “headstock” repair.
But, a the sellers swear the headstocks were never broken.
Either way, I’m picking up an all original, excellent condition 1982...
Question:
How come some Silverburst Les Paul Customs made between 1979-1983 have the back of the body/neck/headstock “bursted” and some only have the body/neck “bursted” with the back of the headstock painted black?

As far as the “Twentieth Anniversary” inlay on 1974 Les Paul Customs, not all of them have that inlay. I have a 1974 LPC without the anniversary inlay. 🧐
