• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Returning it back to stock ain't "boogering".

But.

If anyone wants to swap me a 100% stock 59TV Junior for this one before I take Forest Gumps leg braces off this thing, I'm all ears.

Well, now. That didn't take long, did it? I refrained from answering over there and will pretty much do the same here except to say that I cringed when he reported pulling off the palm pedal.

Speaking ya mind is fine, I just don't think bringing it to stock is "boogering", plus the Bigsby holes will always be there if one wanted to bring it back to Yespec.

Aint like I'm routing it for EMGs and a Kahler.

Truth be told, if I owned the Bloomfield "doublecut" Tele (the guitar that killed folk music) I'd have Dave Johnson make it whole again.

I'd love to see a repair thread of something like that.

Somebody on another forum bragging about buying Steve Howes' DC Jr. with a Bigsby double palm bar and TP/ABR.... one that's documented. His guitar, I know (so no need for the "it's his guitar" stuff please), but it always irks me that someone who could very well buy any other decides that none of that matters even though there could be many people who would love to be the caretaker/owner as it is. I know there are lots of examples of this but it's like buying Page's #2 and stripping the electrics/push-pulls and pickups off of it so you can beat the hell out of it.... "sacrilege" may be too strong a word.....unfortunate or unnecessary I guess is better... once is f'd up, it's gone.....

Comparing this frankenjunior to Page's #2 is a bit of a stretch.

I would personally enjoy this guitar more without the Bigsby and bridge reverted to wraptail. But unless I own it or intend to own it who cares.

I thought this thread was about somebody boogering up an old Les Paul.
But the guitar apparently was already boogered up.
So now there is a problem with the new owner restoring it? :bigal

Really hard for me to wrap my head around that, after 40+ years of trying to keep these things from being boogered up in the first place. :spabout

I'm just hoping the bushings are underneath the wood filler.

I can appreciate and share your line of thought

If there was a 59 TV without all these changes, for the same price I paid for this, I'd of jumped on it.

I am thousands less than anything I looked into.

Congrats and good luck on the bushings. Probably there, I can't see pulling them if he was just gonna fill the holes anyway. But I think bushings would be pretty easy to come up with. I agree with returning anything to stock.

Thank ya!

Thats what I'm thinking as well.

Now what would really be great, would be if the guy wadded up some wax paper inside the bushing to protect the threads from the filler, that's what I wanna find, but I ain't holding my breath on that one...

hahahhaha
