Don't own any vintage, but...

Hey Tom, how vintage is that shotgun?
That's a little on the extreme (and absurd) side. I struggle with the logic here, and imagine that if it has a replacement neck it's likely for another reason. And I'm averse to popping the necks out of old fenders.......The only working guitarist I personally know who plays a Burst on tour has had it's original neck removed and stored. He plays his 59 burst with a replacement neck. Serves two purposes: non burst serial number to attract crooks, and obviously no damage done if the headstock breaks. He also takes a 60 with him but has not taken the same precaution.

More like thinking OUT OF THEIR MIND!That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
Some people think a little too "outside the box."
That's my nice way of saying they're idiots, btw.

He may as well do what Francis Rossi from Status Quo used to do to his Teles so no one would pinch them: he'd drill large holes through the bodies of his guitars. Has the same effect: you end up with a great sounding and playing but almost worthless guitar. Makes no sense to me.The only working guitarist I personally know

Pit bull, alarm, home defense weapons are what I rely on.

I cant believe someone just suggested that there is a man out there, popping the necks off of 1959 Les Pauls, so he can play them out somewhere. I have
heard a lot of ridiculous guitar myths in my time, but I got to say, that's a a dandy !
And only '59 bursts. Not '60s or '58s. lol
