• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

where is that information listed ?
They may not call it "M2M" but it is a special run for them:

"Wildwood Guitars is honored to team with the Gibson Custom Shop to present a very special run of extremely limited, 2017 1958 Les Paul Standards!"

I hope they're not waiting for me to lift my embargo on the CS....anything made after Edwin left can be half a million, or a penny - as far as I'm concerned they can stay on the shelf.

I have well and truly seen my arse...

Vive la revolution....

Ah Ha!

So it's all your fault.:ganz

They're making historics with short tenon's ??? :hmm

No. In 205 they made a "Custom Shop Standard Les Paul" (not an Historic) in 50s and 60s styles with short, wide tenon. They didn't sell well due to the high price and rumors about the tenon, and were discontinued by 2016.

No rumors. They did in fact have the "short" tenon.

It's almost May.

What are they waiting for?:hmm

For dealers to make orders.

Most dealers have a bit of old stock on hand. Music Zoo just marked half of their new stock Standard Historic models as used and blew them out at 5 bills less than Dave's discounted pricing. 3K for NOS '16 Standard 58s.

I'm guessing they are clearing the way for new stock.:hmm

$4750 for a VOS R8 is a good price? :wah

Are you guys new to buying Gibson Custom Shop guitars?? Prices go up pretty much every year.

Also note that, per the listing on Wildwood's site, this is a "very special run of extremely limited, 2017 1958 Les Paul Standards! Featuring a gorgeous faded sunburst finish, phenomenal Custom Bucker pickups and ultra-comfortable neck profiles". Limited runs tend to cost more.

Call up Wildwood and make an offer. They haggle.

Ok , how much should it be then ?

That first digit would definitely need to be a "3" (before any haggling)

That's pretty much the same as every 2013+ R8.

According to the spec sheet leaked by the Music Zoo months ago, the 2017s have picked up many of the True Historics' specs, so there's part of you price increase right there.

That will be true for the actual 2017 Std. Historic reissues that are sitting right now. The 2017 M2M guitars like the ones on the Wildwood site are built to 2016 specs ONLY but have a 2017 serial number. So none of the updates that were listed in the spec sheet that The Music Zoo posted are included.

I can see the spec difference between '17 models being an issue in the future then.

The new Gibson moto: "It's complicated". :laugh2:

These new 58s at Wildwood don't look like 2016 specs to me, though - binding is different, as is the color of the logo. Looks more like my TH58.

Keep drinking that kool aid while Dave's and others are blowing out '16 R8s for under $3k.

Really? Take another look. Those guitars all have standard VOS parts on them. NO True Historic anything. Henry has not signed off on the new 2017 guitars that have the True Historic parts. So impossible for any of them to be sold yet.
