• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Ever seen this badge?

Yes, we know now why.

However, just for fun I checked other guitars on wildwood and daves and noticed higher serial numbers with the standard 2014 badge.

Mine is likely the product of someone saying "screw it" and putting on a new badge.

A picture of this particular badge WITHOUT 2014 on it showed up from an MLP member back in January while at the NAMM show. It was also posted here in a NAMM-related thread. This is the picture that I mentioned in post 13 of this thread.

These all-metal badges / switch-covers weren't done before 2014, correct? My 2013's have the little sticker on the badge, and my 2014's have the metal badge with 2014 on it.

Correct, 2014 badges were all metal but had the 2014 on it.

Like what the peeps been sayin' since post whatever, they ran out of the 2014 badges and stuck on a newer one. What's the serial number? 84xxx? If it ain't 85xxx what question do you want answered? Why did yours get that? Because Bob in final assembly was in the crapper and had the last 1894-2014 in his pocket? :dude: Post up picks of the fiddle by the by! I wanna see it. :eek:la

Oh, Bob!

So have we decided that it's the new late-2014 and onwards badge?

I guess so?

Now everyone is gonna think I heisted a 2015 badge and stuck it on my 2014! I never fake the funk! Atleast, it's documented here :dude:

Looks like 2015 True Historics have a badge all their own!

And looks like bad sanding under the finish (probably just the picture) and what's up with the timer/production dial? Neat touch but unless it's a friggin' laser beam timer what the heck? Actually I kind of like it...casting mark...

I took the 1 to 10 numbers around the badge to represent a Volume or Tone knob.

Oh wow...

From looking at the pictures of the 2015 CS Les Pauls that Wildwood has in stock (the ones with the short neck tenons), it looks like the badge without 2014 on it is what you will now find on 2015 CS Les Pauls with the short neck tenon.

I hope that does not mean that's what Warmy got and nobody told him.

I'm curious to know who takes these badges off and puts on the black one?

Me. Those things are so heavy I use them for shootin' practice 'cause they make a loud DINGGGGgggg when hit and you can use them over and over. If you leave them on your geetar you are going to need a bone twister guy by the time you are my age! I also use them when I go deep sea fishing to get the bait down deep.

Thank God, you had me worried there...I'd be contacting Gibson requesting the correct one if that one means "Short Tenon Here Folks!"

You guys really remove the metal badges? My 2013 seems a hybrid of metal/plastic. I never once thought about removing it. But honestly, I think it would look much cooler if it was all black. Or maybe some custom lazer etched thing. I got a sweet pinup neck plate for my Fender partscaster.

I happen to like that new cover. Looks cool.

Different strokes for different folks man. I'm sure some people carry all their spare fishing weights in the control cavity so they have a stash just in case "The cod aaa bytin at the peeyah."
