• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I just LOVE these guitars and anytime I see one I want one. After having a '97 a '99 a 2004, a 2007 and one of the recent 2013 Benchmark's, and always sorry to let them go, I recently got a 2008 in on a trade deal.

I hated to let go of the 2013 with all of the new updates and appointments, but the neck was just too small. Most all my other oxbloods had large necks so I was extremely surprised and disappointed at the same time with that one. Great guitar, just not the right neck.

I was a little worried that the neck on this 2008 might be too small too as my 2007 was a bit small. Nope, this one has a pretty full neck and I'm just loving it!

This has the burstbucker 2 and 3 combo and they actually sound great in this R4 with my 18 watt. Here's a few pics, enjoy!

That is a real beauty. I would be tempted to put speed knobs on it.

Good Lord!!! Is this some kinda quest???? You have owned 6 of these!!!! That new one looks the bee's knees, I hope it gives you what you need. Speed knobs for sure, well IMO, the fingerboard, for my tastes, is very beautiful.

VERY BEAUTIFUL.:salude

Looks killer! Plus with the larger handle it won't slip out of your hands! What do sense/feel/hear in these differently compared to an LP with the ABR-1?

Must be a real blast with that 18 watt!

Thank you brother Mitchell. I have you, the fine folks here and the literally dozens of historics I've had the pleasure to own these last so many years to blame! :hee

I haven't had my coffee yet, but words like resonance and sustain come to mind...:salude

It sounds awesome thru the 18 watt!

I know, its crazy ain't it? I can't help myself though. :hee

I just love everything about these guitars. It will definitely be getting the proper speed knobs. Damn pointers gotta go too. I dig the board too. It has some cool streaks thru the grain that I'm digging. I like the color too. Thanks for the kind words Big Al!

I made a few minor changes to this one. Swapped out the knobs for some that are a bit more correct. Also a amber switch tip and changed the bobbin screws to gold. Here's a pic. One of these days I'll get a real camera, lol. Hope you enjoy the pic....
