1989 pre-Historic '57 Goldtop?

I came across a 1989 '57 reissue goldtop today. Lame HB-R humbuckers, Antique Gold finish, 9 0xx serial number, short neck tenon, chrome hardware, fairly light. I can't seem to find this model in any of the books. Anyone ever heard of it?

Yes, I've seen photos of one and authenticated it for another LP owner, so I know they are out there. Those Bill Lawrence "circuit board" type humbuckers are not my favorite pickups.

Yeah, Iwasnt too happy to see those in there. Fairly thin neck too. It's closer to an LP Classic than to a R7 in my opinion.
