Hi

I've found a 1980's Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top that I'm considering buying from a private seller. It all looks legit except that the "Made in USA" stamp is sideways under the serial number rather than parallel to it. Is this standard for Deluxe's of this year or should I steer clear?

Thanks in advance :)

The sideways stamped "made in usa" is usually a Kalamazoo made trait.

Pretty standard for late 70s or early 80s Kalamazoo made ones. :) They are a bit more rare than Nashville made ones too.

I have seen two Kalamazoo Les Pauls w/maple necks and modified long tenon. Rare and cool.
