76 les paul custom serial # ?

not been here in a long while. my last LP was stolen 7 years ago. checking outtheis one which I can go see in person. died a little poking around on the web, but can;t verify if this serial# looks legit.

any input appreciated.

76 would be a sticker starting with 00, not a stamped serial #.

When you say 'stamped' I'm see more 'scratched in with small screwdriver'....... Not in any way very good. Where is the volute?

There is a small volute. Maybe sanded down. Stamps look like
a standard key stamp set.

It was a very nice looking guitar from the ad. But I was skeptical on that s#. Not wasting my time to go see.

What made you think this was from 1976? :wah

I wouldn't say the guitar's not legit... that could be a legit '76 serial numer, has the right form. Maybe it was just restamped badly after refin.

Neck construction looks right. Cannot tell anything without pics showing front and back.

the CL ad was listed as a '76...

my quick research t9old me '76 didn;t have imprinted serial #'s but yeah I was curious. i don;t think it's a bad or weird refine. but I'm no expert. here's the rest of the photos.
