• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I've got a million of these things. Anyway, a friend recently turned me onto his Mad Proffessor Little Green Wonder. It's on my board now. It's tube screamer like, but it's more than that. Sounds great with all my stuff and it works really well with my vol. knob.

Yeah, Mad Professor pedals are great!

I like the Fulltone OCD pedal... Analog, very vintage like and clean on the picking.

Me too. Cleans up very well with the guitars volume.

I have also used the Visual Sound J/H pedal. Works great with old BF Fender amps.

I also like the BOR Pearly Grapes let me try out a few years ago.

I just picked up a Zendrive and have found it to be more "amp like" than any other OD I've used.

My favorite is a Colorsound Overdriver clone with an added volume control. It's a discrete circuit with no ICs, great overdrive, passive Bass and Treble controls that have a lot of range, and a truly-clean clean boost. A demo...

Another vote for the OCD - I just love it. Some runners up are the Bogner Red, Wampler Plexidrive, Lovepedal Superlead and Brunetti Mercury Box.

I´m pretty happy!

:rofl  Love that description.

If I need more drive I have a Fulltone OCD which can sound great but can get a little too 'gainy' for me. Maybe it's cos I only ever use a 1 X P90 guitar? Anyone know if these sound better with buckers?
:

Sound great with bucker's that's all I've ever used my Ver 1 for. P-90's do not need a overdrive it's all ready built in the pickup.....:lol

I've been at the top of the waiting list for some time now and can't commit to spending that much for an OD pedal!

for single pedal, I've got one of them there Keeley modded Blues Drivers and it's really great sounding. Does that Marshall fizzle real well.

But I gotta trot out the old RPS-355 from Digitech again. This multi-pedal has a ton of licensed stomp box sounds that are almost infinitely variable, with the ability to assign the pedal to control a parameter. Awesome flexibility and I'd bet most could not pass a blind A/B test.

Xotic BB preamp does the business for me. Very transparent and touch sensitive, and stacks well with other overdrive pedals. It does a nice job of taking the rough edges off pedals like the OCD and taming them down some. A great versatile pedal. The twin version that's out now also looks very promising.

I'm using the Tim, and Keeley BD-1, TS9-DX and TS808... but would love to try a LOT of others for fun! Amongst them, a Zenkudo and a Peter Cornish OD.

With Marshalls, I use a Timmy....and for higher gain an OCD. To me, both are very amp like, natural, and dynamic.

Through Fender amps, I like the Menatone Red Snapper and the Xotic AC Plus.

I have an OCD, and I really really tried to dial in a good boost and it is probably just me, but I just wasn't feelin it.

The Tiki and the Blackstone are what work for me. I even like the ZVex Super Hard On better than the OCD.
