Pretty cool. I still say this is the best looking historic of all time. :)

That's a very nice one, however for me buyusfear's r8 has always had the kind of character that make it my favorite reissue

Sometimes I think it's the slot head screw in the pickguard that does it for me

P.S. About to finally join the historic club myself, just waiting on the truck to drop it off later this week

Hi guys,

here is a quick update from the HLPDB.

The page started five and a half years ago, in the summer of 2006.

From the footer of the page:
We have 1021 registered users and 766 guitars with 2210 images in our database. The guitars were viewed 554755 times.

Over a half million guitar views!

Thanks to you all and keep it up!

An additional feature was added by Google:
If you have a Google+ account, you can now not only "+1" a page, you can share it on your G+ stream, too. Just hover your mouse over the "+1" button :salude

Sorry for the server problems we had over the last 20 hours. The server was updated and is now running the latest operating system and database version.

If you find any problems with the HLPDB or gear page please post it in this thread.

Thanks!

A user notified me, that the HLPDB (not the gear page) was not rendering correctly in Internet Explorer 8 and below.
I have found a typo and the page is now loading even on these old browsers.

And now it happened: When I was developing the HLPDB 4.5 years ago I owned three Historics. I sold my last one this week.

Ofcourse I will not leave the Historic district of the LPF or stop running or improving the HLPDB.
I've got a new Historic: My very own "hoss designed" guitar!

During a trip to the Gibson facilities in June 2012 I'd got to pick the top wood, color, pickups and tuners.
I went with an R8 with unmatched maple with lots of wild grain under a faded tobacco finish, DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs in double cream and Grovers.

The guitar is nicknamed Faye, because CD's original burst (top right in the LPF banner) was the blueprint for the color and pickups.

Some minor updates were done to the HLPDB as well. Check it out :2cool

We are celebrating 6 years of the HLPDB, with 1,122 registered users and 811 guitars with 2,360 images in our database. The guitars were viewed 633,933 times.

The guitar is also in my new signature :spabout

Okay, but now I can not read any of the text on the site.
Oops...I've tested it on 3 browsers on the Mac.
Internet Explorer problem maybe? I've got to check it out.

EDIT: I have now also checked it on IE 6-9, no problems.

Does the Gear Page work?

Nothing has changed with the theme, except the images (no code).

Anybody else got a problem viewing the site?

Can you send me a screenshot and the browser version you are running?

hoss (at) historiclespauls.com

Thanks.

It should look like this:

Looks fine to me hoss as viewed from an iPad :2cool
Thanks!
jimmyace2006 can you try again, maybe it was a temporary error.

Guys, did you know you can use this link (with refresh or click on "I'm lucky" / "more p0rn") for random entries in the database.

Very cool for those boring meetings or phone calls :2cool

EDIT: This is no spam, I am not getting anything from reloads or "page impressions".

It works now. Yesterday I was seeing wood as the entire background; no white behind the text; just wood. Now it looks like the screen shot that you posted. Thanks.

Since we were getting so many registrations from spammers lately I added a little quiz question to the registration process of the HLPDB.
I am sure, any new users from this forum will know the answer :)
And I hope the Russians and Chinese or their robots don't...

There seems to be a problem with COMCAST users, I get a lot of email errors from people registering with a comcast.net address. Looks like Comcast is blocking my ISP or my server.

Users with comcast.net addresses please use a different email address, like one of the free web services (yahoo, gmail,...).
If you have registered already and did NOT receive the confirmation email please email me with your account name and email and I can manually activate your account: hoss(at)historiclespauls(dot)com

Thanks!

There is a new feature if you are looking for a quick link to share one of your guitars on the web:

Check out the "gallery link to share" under each item in "my guitars".

Guys, after the latest small updates to the site, do you have any suggestions to improve the HLPDB?

Do you miss features?

Thanks!
