• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have a 90 or 91 LP Classic 1960
a 1995 LP Classic Prem Plus flametop
a 1984 Tokai Love Rock with a an old classic Gibson pickup that i found in a hotel room where a Gibson rep had spoken around 1987
1957 LP Special with orig P90 (great guitar)
a zemiatis 1982 metalfront w/ Gibson pups (great guitar)
a Tokai Strat with an old Seymour Duncan George Lynch
three 1980 era hamer Sunbursts
two Ibanez Destroyers, one has a Gibson PUP in it unknown age or make
one Ibanez Flying V, lawsuit era with original Ibanez pups
1968 ES-335 with orig Gibson PUPS
Does anyone know what PUPS are in these guitars and if not is there a way I can find out by looking at the PUPS themselves.
I want to try the antiquities test tone problem solver. The pups in the LP classic and the prem classic both sound terrible.

As far as it goes with what you have in there that might be Gibson humbucking pickups, if you get some details together and provide that info some around here might be able to help you id them. Look for cosmetic details, any markings on the top of the pickup bobbins, square versus round holes or any little letters or a raised T, and anything on the bottom of the pickups whether stickers or stamped numbers. Also try to get the DC resistance measured for the pups you are trying to identify.

As to the LP Classic, the stock pickups are the higher output ceramic magnet 496R and 500T. If you are used to more traditional hums, those will definitely be quite different.
