I prefer the second pic, the warm exposure makes those burst glow... although the contours seem to pop more in the first. Good to have choices of pics... and ES-330s, for that matter!

Are the pickups hotter in later years?
I’ve really never measured their output, but they all sound and play great. They don't sound "hotter" in later years. Have owned and played these for a long time, before all the interest in them grew. The ES 330 was a “sleeper” as a vintage collectible until a few years ago, and now people are asking crazy money for them IMHO.

Cheers Mike, they're my fave Gibson guitar with the P90s, have a real honk and twang to them.
Have you ever spent any time with a late '60s 330L, if you have can you tell me how they compare tone wise to these ones.

I love the Cherry color ES-330 you got there (and finally have a nice Cherry Custom Shop 1964 Reissue with the Nickel pickups).
I have always liked this cherry color even better than the cherry used on a 335 but never found one like it except maybe the Clapton 335.
