I think we are many Jr. fans on this site :salude

Junior's are the greatest gift a 50's LP's enthusiast, who isn't in a position to drop 30-100k on a guitar, could ask for.
They sound incredible, and for someone who wants to gig a good guitar, they're in the weight range of a fender, which is a nice bonus.

I have a single-cut 58 jr with a weird guard: it's been painted black over white...and when I scratched at the white, I found black underneath. Maybe it was originally a white guard. Who knows? Either way, it's an AMAZING guitar. The black/white/black guard is odd, though.

I agree my point was they were not commenting on what i thought were two cool JR's.It seems i get a lot more responses from Bursts ,GTops,or ES's than i was getting for the Jr's.Just an observation nothing critical ment. Please all you Jr lovers post a Jr if you can. Thanks Mike B.

Had the guitar at Vic's store today and all the guys there liked the Tortoise over the Black as well, even though the Black is rarer.Mike B.

no dice ...all you did was turn the previous pic from the ES thread sideways ...C'mon Sam, I didn't just fall off the turnip wagon.

No dice or not that is all i have to give you right now in curly ES's .Sideways upside down however, that is a beautiful guitar and all the curl i can give you for now. That guitar looks great from any angle IMO.If anyone has a Curly 50's ES-335-45-55 please please post it for Gary,Thanks guys.Mike B. Ps Even if you do post it he will not let you meet his daughter.

Tortoise Guard

Hi Mike

That's a gorgeous Junior you purchased and in the nicest colour too, congratulations. I have got to say it looks even nicer with the tortoise pickguard.

Any chance you could upload a few sound clips please?

Cheers :)

Went back to see my friend Joe S. today .We are still negotiating on his 1957 Junior with white guard and knobs made for the 50's trade show.He did sell me one of his 1961 Maestro amps. This version was only made in 1961 and i think there are 298 made --according to one of the amp books .It is a Maestro Deluxe REVERB---ECHO,OR A ,GA2RT.Great amp think Tweed Deluxe with more crunch and built in reverb. If you have never tried one of these you are missing out.Really really good sounding amp with 2-6V6's.Joe had three of these and just bought one with 4-8 inch speakers so he sold me one of the single 12 models. Here is the amp. Thanks Mike B.
