I made a joke on another forum and seem to have lost privileges to respond. The joke did involve a politicians name, but had absolutely nothing to do with politics. Like for real, what are things coming to. Heck, probably 1 in 50 people work for the government. I am guessing they are not allowed on that site as the minute a word comes out of their mouths they would be in violation. When looking through threads on that site I can pretty much find some reference to something one could consider political in pretty much any one of them.

What really got me was that the person I am assuming moderated it had the galls to send a message saying bye! Talk about being high on yourself. The Les Paul Forum seems to be the last forum that isn't overkill on censorship. It is also the last site that isn't overkill with ads. So much so that I actually plan on donating to this site when I figure out how to set up some form of online payment.

The temptation is killing me!

“The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful.”

OK dude, YOU'RE BANNED!

You made a reference to a reference AND mentioned a competitors product even though it was in a negative way!

You must wear your shirt inside out today.

You must also redo your pedal board with the lights out.

Pictures must be supplied of you accomplishing these tasks for re-admittance.

As the lights are out and a flash is a light I suspect jpegs that are completely dark.

So funny. On the same forum I see people say the nastiest and evil things about people and companies and if it isn't a politician its okay. I am not into nasty, but I don't see why politicians are hidden behind a veil.

In the beginning, this site was just about Les Pauls, and all sorts of people gathered here.

The musicians who loved them...

...and the people who could afford them.

You can imagine what the Pub was like come election year. 🤬

The rest of the forum was a bit like the Wild West, as well. We had one moderator, Cogswell, and he was relatively laid back. When the BS got too thick, he'd just say "Game on!" and log off. The rest of us... well, you did want to argue with a lawyer today, didn't you? Maybe a doctor? Or the Comeback King - Big Al. Big Al had a way of handling trolls that was not unlike Dirty Harry. "Now, I've lost track of how many posts I've made today, but you've got to ask yourself one question..."

These days, we don't seem to be the target for trolls we once were.

I can resist anything but temptation.
-My dad.
-Although I suppose he stole it.

The funny thing about some forums is that there will be a 'don't post negative things about any musician' rule, but if you want to pick on an artist that doesn't play music that most members like, it's fine.

All my life, I've liked going to music stores, and I enjoyed forums. These days, I'm only on two or maybe three. It's all about the minutia and specs vs the playing.

Man, I honest to goodness don't know who my congressperson is. Or the governor of my state. Or my senators. Couldn't care less. If I sat and thought about the landfill fodder political signs I had to endure seeing, I might be able to name the vice president. Don't know why I would though. Just some dude in a dorky suit.

Politics aren't a hobby. They're not even interesting. Go take a walk. Read a book. Play your guitar. Tell your wife a joke. Lots of better things to do.
