• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So I put all nickel parts (NEW DMC covers too) on this 2012 Traditional. Now it's got a tinted clearcoat and it is looking a lot like Doris!

Loving this guitar:

Thanks Shred.

I've been trying to get a better pic. In person this thing looks really great. Also the best sounding Les Paul I've ever played. Really great sounding hunk of wood.

Here is Doris on the left, 2012 Trad on the right:

And the DMC covers really make the difference in "vintage" look. All the other covers are just too square.

It looks like it came out really well... I'm glad it sounds good too. The top on the trad really holds its own vs Doris. I bet a lot people wouldn't even know it wasn't Doris if you didn't tell them :2cool

That is just an excellent Les Paul, my friend! I've always found the Traditional Les Paul Standard to be a fine, quality guitar. I have heard more than a few which can stand up with the best of them, TONEWISE, APPEARENCE WISE and FEELWISE. I've been roasted in the past for making such observations.

These are professional grade, modern interpretations of a classic guitar. OMG!! the 2012/13's were an awesome bunch of fine fiddles. Everything has it's place, expensive, cosmetically similar guitars to long ago 50's models, often limited issue to boost collectability, are fine and quite sought after by players and collectors alike, nothing wrong there, I love plating my Historics.

The Standard model, and in particular the Traditional LP Standard, seem to me to be meant for the working Pro. High quality players specific working Les Pauls with well made, beautifully finished and in some cases wood that rivals high dollar collectable Custom Shop Models.

Wilko, all the changes you made really upped the mojofication factor and made an outstanding Les Paul become a F'n Ayee! thatswhatI'mtalkin'bout! LES PAUL STANDARD!!:dude::yah:salude:peace2:hank

I'm glad it's come together so well. It's going a long way toward filling the void left by the '56.

here's a before and after:
