• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Specs are a little sketchy as of now but I confirmed today that Gibson Custom is doing a run of 150 1958 Les Paul Standards called the Slash "Brazilian Dream". Each guitar will have a Brazilian Rosewood finger board (USA only) with the VOS finish and hand signed and numbered by the man himself. They will also have a special lacqured green lined case and some other goodies. Looks like the new interim management of custom is wasting no time. I cant imagine the MSRP on this one but it will be pricey no doubt.

Factory signed/aged R9s were generally $25,000. I'm guessing with Braz and more recent price increases, these will be $30,000 - $35,000 new and probably the best investment Gibson of the past five years (although I hate people treat these as investments).

I don't know. While admittedly, Slash is almost as iconic a Les Paul player as Jimmy Page, that's a rather homely looking guitar afaic. I wish Gibson would do a Page Brazilian Dream, a Peter Green Brazilian Dream or even a Duane Brazilian Dream. I'm a Slash fan, but investible or not, I would buy a 1950s Gold Top for similar money.

I dig Slash but jeepers, that's pretty boring for what it could have been. Can barely even recall him playing an LP in that kind of tobacco finish, think he was using one on 'My Favorite Riff' with Nikki Sixx but beyond that? Not that often.

I'd love to see a Kossoff or Bloomfield Brazilian dream... now they could be something rather special :hmm

I’m relieved. I love Slash but thankfully that guitar would not be for me, not that I could afford it J

Definitely not what springs to mind when you think of Slash’s guitars over the years.

If it's a tobacco finish could it be similar to the Joe Perry 58 Burst that Slash purchased and used after Joe Perry was selling off his treasured instruments back in the 80's? Then Slash presented the 58 Burst back to Joe Perry during an Aerosmith show as a surprise birthday present and Gibson Custom did do a signature Joe Perry burst model (not sure if it was a CC model? )

I found out today that the List Price will be $19,995. For a 58 plain top with a brazilian board signed by Slash or not I cant see this happening. But then again he has a cult following and anything is possible.

I retract my previous comment about being a good investment. That guitar is freakin' ugly. :wah

An interesting finish(or LP) to say the least. Can't say that it's attractive at all:hmm

Which cash cow has been milked the most, er, who has the most Gibson and Epiphone signature models now, Slash or Joe B? I've long lost count.
