Looks as though Marshall made a special version of Jimmy's amp just for the show. The large tubes that I previously claimed to be KT88's in another thread were actually KT66's...WOW. Page's sound was definately very similar to his Song Remains the Same tone. Could this make all the KT88 stuff and 180W boosted output bogus? Could Page have in the course of that one interview completely thrown us for a loop for the next 25 years? Will Marshall mass produce this model and end decades of tone searching for many of us? I have to say it would definitely take a lot of fun out of the tone hunt that I embarked on many years ago.

Looks pretty cool. I have KT-66's in my 2203 and they sound huge. I love KT-66's!!

Extremely cool. Wonder if it's a Super Lead with the KT66 drive section. Probably modded for Jimmy, I'm sure.

Absolutely. The A & N letters from his Orange Amps were covered only because he is working with Marshall. Not because he it to spell ORGE. A letter from his Russian heads was also colored dark red so you couldn't read PETERSBURG JP-100 unless you were very close.

When I first saw the pics I thought they looked too new to be vintage and I guessed the 1959HW.

You guys might find it funny that he actually prefers the tone of VOX AC-30 amps over the Marshalls but they were not loud enough live to compete with Bonham's drumming. He never used a Marshall in the studio.

I was there also. But I couldn't see the back of the amps from the backtage area ,only the sides, therefore I cannot confirm whether this text is legit or not.

Only thing that looks dodgy to me is how the flash illuminates the gold control plate but doesn't make any difference to the white text? Almost as if it was put on afterwards?

Marshall, Marshall ,Marshall!!! I wasn't there, but from the live footage, I could see half Orange and half Marshall. I am an avid Orange fan, and don't think they get any kind of acknowledgement on here, it's always Marshall, Marshall, Marshall oh yeah and Vox-ac30! I've seen orange on the backline of most of the prolific artists out there, and the 02 show proves it. I'm not saying it beats Marshall, but it is damn well is equal. Across the board Orange amps rule!!! There is no artist signature models, (like the Kerry King, Jimi Hendrix, etc.) just ultra fat bad ass british valve tone. All the amazing musicians that produce the music I'm most passionate about know what's up. If you're not offered a multi-million dollar endorsement deal, use what sounds the best- Orange Amps! And they do get endorsement from loads of killer rockers as well. Anybody know how to get the black skinned Oranges?:jaw :jaw :mslim :mslim

Jimmy used Orange for his theremin.

He actually had four Orange heads. Two were Rocker 30 and I think the others might have been AD30. Not sure on the two on the left, I will have to check my photos again.

The Rocker 30 with a quality EQ, delay, and reverb gives you more tonal options than a Marshall ever would. Now if your playing for 20K each night you need the 100+ watt Marshall but unfortunately most of us don't play those sorts of gigs.

But a lot of those old Oranges were signature models in the sense that they were made for and labeled with the artists' names, including Page's.

I think I read that Page actually had the Orange cabs (and his Marshall Marshall Marshall grills) painted black.
