What was that for? Rick Nielsen is an awesome guitarist!!
Rick Nielsen also owns a sunburst 1959 Gibson Les Paul that he acquired as a gift from Geddy Lee Of Rush.
Who are you?Rick Nielsen also played bass on some Cheap Trick recordings after Tom Petersson first left in the Eighties.
He also "shares a birthday with this person's uncle"...! What a fascinating piece of information..I just hate when people give you gifts, and they expect $200k+ in return.
A Cheap Trick fan, that’s who.Who are you?

I will say, it’s not really Mark’s place to question the authenticity of these guitars either. He’d never get another interview if he did that. The split headstock explorer for starters.
I’ll add that the other two explorers are just to die for. Honestly, what a treat to get this level of quality footage of those two old gals and their respective cases.
But yeah… you can even see Mark’s face acting super uncomfortable praising the 3rd explorer like something just isn’t quite right.
Not trying to be a smart ass but, for what reason? To satisfy the vintage enthusiast? Maybe the internet armchair quarterbacks? And who would make the edits call? The video editor who has no idea? And I believe Rick is on the Board of Directors for Gibson. I would love to hear that conversation. “Hey Rick, we cut out the main guitars we came to see because we think they are misrepresented by you”.As has been stated before. Those suspect guitars should have been edited out.
If I owned a worldwide brand, and that brand had an official youtube channel, I want those videos to maintain the credibility of my spokespeople and authenticity of my product. Gibson should be the authority on its own products in its own videos, right? In a best case scenario, they have misidentified and misrepresented a Gibson built R9 as a vintage 1959 Les Paul, which devalues the brand. Or worse, an obvious fake was passed off as the real thing to their hired expert in the field. Not trying to be a smart ass but, for what reason? To satisfy the vintage enthusiast?
