Hey Grande Albert.....or is it Alfredo. Jk I don’t know you, but in my many years of lurking on here have read your posts and USUALLY agree with them. Not always. But that’s a good thing. I sincerely hope you do well, and are doing well. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I do know that if anybody can go through it and still come out you same ole jovial, oronery(sp.) self, it’s you my friend. Prayers, positive thoughts, and blistering pentatonic coming your way from northern Michigan!

P.S. never say never! If tony iommi, django, and countless others can figure out how to play with an injury or handicap, you can too, brah!:headbange:headbange:headbange

I spoke with Al yesterday and he is up and around and trying to process. He is in remarkably good spirits. Nick and Kathy are doing a great job helping him walk thru this next phase.
He is a tough tough guy. A fine example for folks in difficult times.

Great news! He has an army of musicians pulling for him here. I just visited another guitar buddy who recently suffered a stroke during surgery. His left arm & leg are paralyzed. The first thing that came to mind was Al & how he deals with his reality. He is an inspiration to more people than he may ever know!

I think she's over reacting personally...

Hey Big Al. just sending you some good vibes from Utah. Hopefully your doctor can find a fix that will help you get some sort of relief!

Some of the stuff that has fallen out of your mouth when defending fact vs myth on this forum, has, and will, remain with for me for years! Take care my man!

So it is Steelhead season in Upstate NY and Big Al and Nick are able to drive around and do "TNN The Home Game" and watch the fishermen hauling in some big trout and salmon. He plans on doing some fishing in tandem with his son, but needs more healing time.
He is able to work his left hand some and is retraining himself- despite some humbling inability to do what he wants and remembers- to play. His vibrato has suffered without any leverage- his hand works and he is playing.
We had a good talk- CV is keeping him largely home (which is a good thing), but his spirits are great and there is rarely a single ounce of ill-speaking in his voice or attitude.
It is all about desire and wanting to remain a 'part-of'- what's the point in continued existence if it's nothing but self pity? Good stuff Big Al.
So we talked at length about gear- yea- the cool part. At one point he had 18 juniors. I agree completely with his feelings about these "student" guitars. Stripping it back, and the huge range with the combination of those tone and volume settings. He toured extensively with just a Junior. Very very cool.
All is well at Big Al's house. He wishes me well and I am passing it along to all of you.
