• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So I bought used...8 3133

Nice, all of 'em. :wail So what pups did you put in them? You seem to have left the GT alone...

Marshallhead,

Sweet R8 and R9. Glad to hear that you saved money and bought a used Gibson. Given the warranty issues you had with the R9, I see no reason to spend more money for a new one.

I have been giving Gibson hell on their Forum. They keep locking my threads and then deleting them. I was hoping we could shame them into fixing your R9, but it appears that they are digging in.

Thanks everyone! :dude

The guitars have the following in them now..

The R8 has custom wound Wolfetones made last year and done to specs I have been mulling over for awhile. Really just a hot paf...amazing pickups. 8.4k neck ,5 mag unpotted and the bridge is 9.0k,5 mag, unpotted. These are the closest clones I have had and have done most all of my gigging and studio work this year with them.

The 03 R9 had the Wolfe's in that pic but now sports a set of real PAF's with covers.

The 00 R9 has Voodoo's as did the GT, which I just sold without pickups as the new owner has real paf's he intends to install. When the 2000 R9 is fixed I have another set of PAF's for that. :dude

I kinda lucked into the paf's and said "waht the hell...might as well use them". :2zone

Would you guys just stop it!!! I've got a hard-on for a '58 plaintop already and you guys are makin' it worse! You're gonna have me bustin' out the credit card any minute now. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not buying one last year. I came close to pulling the trigger on 8-3127 for a mear $2450, then I changed my mind and bought a BR R7 instead. Here's the one I should have on my wall right now...

Actually, I am anxiously waiting for the Cloud 9 R8s to become available. I think one of those just may be my next guitar.
