Small-bodied Gibson Acoustics?

I've been playing mostly acoustic these days. Just solo guitar and singing. So, even though I have a couple of LPs, SGs, an ES-335 and an ES-225, the one thing I don't have is a Gibson acoustic. Many people rave about the J-45, and the Hummingbird, but those are dreadnoughts, and I find them too bulky for me. Does Gibson make a smaller (parlor, 000, GS Mini) size guitar?

The smaller bodied options I am familiar with are the L-00 and the LG-2.

I love an LG-2 for a smaller bodied Gibson. It still projects well and has some head room.

I play a J-45 mostly, it’s a boom stick; however on the couch or when I want something a bit more intimate I grab my LG-2.

LG-2’s sound fuller than an L-00 to me. The L-00 can sound a touch boxy depending on the guitar so for smaller bodied Gibson acoustics I personally prefer the LG-2 to the L-00.

The small Gibson acoustic that I like is the Century of Progress model Elvis Costello Signature guitar. You can find them used starting around 4K. My first guitar teacher had a real one from the thirties, and it really projected. I do not have one, and I like my J-45 very much. But those sound good.

My personal fave small Gibson is the CF100.

The J-185 is a great midsized guitar. The Everly model is coolest of those.

The LGs can be great, too, for vintage.

Search for a Gibson Parlor (Rosewood, Mahogany or Walnut) Guitar. They sound bigger than their diminutive size. And pricing isn't too bad for a Gibson, especially if interested in a used model.

I was shopping for a smaller bodied acoustic a few years back and landed a parlor-sized J200P (Maple back/sides) that sounds amazing.

Good hunting!

I have found that choice of an acoustic guitar depends for me on whether I am finger picking or playing with a flat pick.

Like the OP, these days I am mostly singing and playing solo. For finger picking, which is what I mostly do, my go to guitar is a Gibson L-00.

Although my Waterloo actually gets more time, it’s a great guitar as well.

Did somebody say small bodied acoustic?

The '46 LG-2 gets the most play out of mine, it's a wonder of a guitar. I had a '34 L-00 for a while that was almost as good. The L-2s towards the back are no slouches either, the gold sparkle has a really lovely balanced tone and the Florentine has an amazing bass response unlike any other L-size guitar I've played. The KG-14 is as dry as dry can be but a lot of fun as is the KGT-11 at the back. The HG-Century is still set up for slide as Gibson intended and is an absolute cannon!

My first guitar was a ‘64 b-25 sunburst

Still have it, put on Grover tuners, updated wood bridge and a hardshell to replace the crappy chipboard cause I bought it with

I should play it more….
