• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What else could I have but late-50s period-correct double-black long-magnet PAFs? :)

You can read the whole story about when and how I got it (and more pics!) here.

Here it is with my '66 BFDR:

For all the old-timers:

Remember when 52-53 stuff was considered crap? Fully carved maple tops, Brazilian fingerboards w/ trapezoidal inlays? high-end solid-body guitars from THE premier manufacturer--now we're supposed to buy the notion that a Jr. is the superior instrument? What's up?

Weigh in, my friends, Not just tonally, but historically
