I've never been a pedal kind of guy, but now that I've got the Demeter, I needed some tone-shaping. I only have three pedals: Morley Wah, and two Line 6 pedals (Modulation and Delay Modelers). I plugged straight into my amp last night, and could not believe how much tone was being sucked away! This is from three pedals that are true-bypass(maybe not the Morley). I know this is nothing compared to what some guys use. Do you pedal guys ever get bummed out when you bypass the effects, and plug directly into the amp? Ever consider the VHT Valvulator? I probably gonna buy one today.

Did you take out the Morley and still hear missing tone? Are you sure you have the Line6 boxes set to true bypass (they have a TP mode and a non-TP mode)?

i have experienced the same thing with several morley products ive owned and tried, even that bad horsie wah-as far as the line 6 goes once that signal hits a digital path it never comes out the same even with the "true bypass"-from mucho cash spending and experimenting i have arrived at this new mantra "all analog all the time"-if you have rack set up or a digital amp its one thing but into a sweet machine like that demeter go analog:dude

Man, i fought that same stuff for years.. Finally just got a switching system, and did away with it all. Those Morley's that are supposed to be TRUE, bah,,,,,,, I'll believe it when I hear it.. Not sure about the Line 6 stuff, but man, anything I EVER put in line, it was there... Just like the Korg leslie sim, It was supposed to be True, and in the studio, you could back up tape, and hear it sweeping just sitting there and not even on... trust your ears,, not some corporate bullshit selling point...

The tone did improve a bit when took the Morley out of the path, but not much. I could hear the low end and dynamics a little more. The Line 6 pedals are set to true-bypass(delays stop cold when switched off), and their coloration is more subtle. I bought a BOSS TU-2 tuner yesterday. I don't really want it in my signal path, though it would be great to just hit it and tune silently. I'm sure it won't be an issue with the Valvulator Line-Driver. I know I'm nit-picking. They're just three pedals. It's just that I was beginning to think my overdrive channel was a bit "cold" until I plugged straight it. I laid out the cash for the Demeter. Damn it, I wanna hear it!

I wanted a wah and I tried the supposedly by-pass Morley against the Cry-baby. Cry baby won by a mile but I never plug it in because it just sucks tone.

I use a Vox that I modded myself for true-bypass. Only way to go, IMO. I got the schematic off the Fuller site.

I bought a Morley Echo/Wah/Volume pedal about 3 years ago. It was supposedly a limited run of 250 units. It does the deed for me, combined with Tech 21 Distortion box. I don'ty think the Morley Echo Pedal is still manufactured, it's ashame cause it's a great pedal.

I was experiencing the same problem as you until I bought the Valvulator. I was skeptical before I bought it but I found the difference to be quite dramatic. I use way more pedals than you do as well. Highly recommended.

I bought one the second the Evil Empire, er, GC opened on Sunday. It's pretty amazing! I swear it sounds better with all the effects inline than plugging directly into the amp. I'm afraid to plug the Valvulator straight into the amp. I might find myself back at square one.:lol2
