I've got a friend in Medina Ohio who has a Marshall 2x12 combo amp.
I don't have pictures, but from his description, it's likely an early 70s.
It blows fuses and may have a bad transformer.
He's had it worked on locally, with unsatisfactory results.
Can anyone recommend a qualified tube amp repair shop/individual in the Akron/Cleveland area?
Thanks!

That's a tough one. In the 70's there was several sources for anything you needed when Mayfield Music and Sodja Music were around. Not much anymore that I am aware of. He might be better off to ship it to one of the well known amp techs.

I appreciate your thoughts, and thanks for the reply.
In doing some web research, I found Wild Dutch in Broadview Heights.

I'll recommend he try them.

Good luck! I have been trying here for the last 30 years and haven't been able to find one I would go back to again. If you find somebody please post it here after you get it back. I have nothing but horror stories from getting em back worse then I sent it in to the last guy who tried for THREE YEARS to fix the problem and handed it back to me in pieces.

I'm probably the exception to the rules of probability but honestly, post here if you have luck and please include what the problem was with the amp. Sorry to be so negative but it's a pet peeve.
