Pickups loose and wobble

My pickups wobble, too loose. The geometry of the pickup support rings are such that I needed to lower the pickups with height adjustment screw because it was interfering with picking, as I lowered the they became too loose.
I would rather not sand down the plastic rings, I'll screw it up. But could I add bigger or extra springs to push up and steady the pickups? Or?

Yes.

You could probably even take your springs out, stretch them, and put them back in.

drill straight thru the pickup and out thru the back side of the guitar

then use 3/8 x 3 inch toggle bolt with washers and crank that thing tight
