• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Pick-up issue. Advice requested.

Depends on how “high gain”, the volume and room.

Gary Moore played original bursts through Soldanos and Marshalls usually boosted with with and Ibanez or Boss pedal. Maybe not high-gain by todays standards but to be honest if you’re playing with more gain than that you may as well be using something better suited.
I am not using more gain that Gary Moore - And certainly lower volume!
I think the tech route is where I will begin. Hopefully they can mess with the magnets as mention above and sort things out, cuz I really do love the tone and would like to keep as is.

Got it, but I would advise against any kind of waxing. Just make sure that the cover is properly soldered on the pick up and it should alleviate any problems whatsoever. This is a quick easy fix.
