• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here are the pics that I have from the "Lemon burst" that Koss used throughout his career! I think that this is the one that JBLPlayer played at his Newcastle gig!? Am I correct on that?

Enjoy the pics! :dude:

I don't know, I would lean towards 8x12 but I'm not sure! I was more interested in the fact the they were brown! Brown plexi's for Christ's sake! :dude: I hear the Marshall gods calling me!! I NEED a plexi!!

Not a problem, glad to help. Thanks for the pics. I had most of them already being a Koss freak but you just gave me a couple of new ones.

Yes. That was pretty much his main les paul after about '71, so any pic taken after then with a burst is more than likely that one.

Nice pictures.... I am pretty positive this is the burst that I have played a few times on stage in Newcastle Uk. It is awesome and is the best sounding Les Paul I have ever played. ( including my own 59's) I think Gibson is doing a replica that is due out soon of this guitar. I am so glad to see a PK model !! My idol!
JB

PS... Love the fawn coloured full stacks in one cabinet!!!!!

Great - the Koss sig is way overdue.

I wonder if those fawn full stacks are the ones referred to by Koss as 'the Enterprise' - these were 8X12 custom made cabs IIRC. Poor roadies.

I think Koss' burst looks cooler than ever in the pic Keef posted. I've played a few of the clubs here in the North that Free used to play. Those Cabs sure look cool but I can't imagine getting them out of those slippery metal fire escape stairs at 1am (whilst p*ssing down) was much fun at all.

My Mum was at the Sunderland 1970 gig and she went to the Isle of White festival. She tells me whilst the Isle of White was a great Free gig, it wasn't quite as good as the smaller Sunderland one.
Here's a bootleg clip from Sunderland for those that haven't heard it.....

PS - Does anyone know what effect Koss had on for the Wishing Well recording?

This picture shows that Paul was a little guy with the heart of a lion on the guitar. Look how big the Lester looks on him! A heavy Les Paul and cranked Marshalls with bass speakers! It's a wonder he wasn't literall knocked off the stage by his rig!
