• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

P-90 Wiring Question

I know the proper POT and CAP values that Gibson uses for HB-equipped LPs. I also know the values for non-Gibson single-coil guitars. How does Gibson wire a LP Special (two P-90)? Do they use four 500k pots like on Standards, or do they use 250K (like on a typical $trat or T@le)? Also, what caps are used for the two tone pots?
By the way, this is my first post on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

p-90s

I wish someone would answer you, man. I just ordered a set of Fralin p-90s for my LP Special and I'd like to know, too.

We don't get as much p-90 help here since Big Al left.:cry

Kreig, have you done any investigating into what pots to use? I seem to remember you with a special and jr. at one time.

SG Classic Pots

Hello, I've been watching the forum for awhile and realized I accually know this!! At least in reference to P-90 equiped canoe paddles.

I contacted gibson a month ago, they told me the pots are 500K and the caps are .22 for my 01 SG Classic.

Thanks for the responses. I'm building a Gibby-meets-Fender P-90 Mahogany Thinline w/ Gib scale neck. This will help.

caps

Big Al likes the 0.15 NOS oil/paper caps in his P-90 equipped guitars as well as his humbucker guitars.

Since Angela.com is sold out of the Gudemans, the Spragues or Jensens are recommended.
