Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
I like it with them. If it was a highly flamed or quilted guitar then I would leave off the Pickguard, but on a plain top I think it looks better with.
Thanks, but it is a humble Studio Standard 3 piece plain top
and so I know taking away the PG isn't adding too much, if at all.
Replaces my 1974 LP Tobacco Sunburst Standard that I bought
new in 1974 and sold 11 years ago. That had more pieces than
a jig-saw puzzle... (norlin years, I guess).
But if I had to compare those 2, I'd take the STUDIO STANDARD
in a heartbeat. Just a better guitar all the way around.....
Lena flies up for a few days and STEALS my LP the entire time.
Some real serious bonding was going on between him and my LP!
Had to pry it from his clenched hands...........
Hey, it was the only guitar he had with action that was actually "playable"*.... next time I'm bringin' a bigger suitcase!~ <smiles>
*a situation that cost me $250 out of the kindness of my heart to fly back up at a later date and set up his guitars for him, but hey, what are bros for.
