• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Well, the original plan was to find a SG "gigging" guitar to take out and play instead of my goldtop for obvious reasons...
But then I found this one...
What's a Gas-alcoholic to do??? :dang

The untouched PAF's sound sublime and the neck is meatier than most SG's I've played.
The neck color is unfaded too. Will post those later...

My dream guitar. My Dad bought a brand new '61, and it was the guitar I learned on. Unfortunately, he let it slip away. PLEASE, PLEASE keep me in mind if you ever change your mind about keeping it!!!

The neck shot.... Sorry 'bout the headstock shadow, the LA sun does that... :)

I'm the third owner. The previous owner was a collector who never played it. The original owner's parents bought it new in 63'. Sadly, he only played it for a few years before going to Vietnam and not coming back. :-(
It lived under his parents bed for 45 years or so. Unfortunately, lots of clean guitars from the golden era have similar stories....

Great score! I had a very good friend who had a pair of clean '62 SG's. One was the sideways pull and the other was the ivory handle. Both were fabulous playing and sounding guitars. Myself....I love SG's. Enjoy this one as long as you can.

That is amazing! Beautiful guitar, congrats! Has to be the best preserved 54 year old guitar on the planet!
