NGD With a Question.....Update

I just brought home a brand new LP Goldtop Deluxe. Really like the playability and sound of the git. Question is, since I've never had a guitar with mini-humbuckers, I get a loud buzz unless I'm touching something metal on the guitar like the bridge or the strings. Then the guitar is dead quiet. I know this is "normal" for single coil-equipped guitars, like most Fenders, but I'm wondering if it's the same with the minis?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Update....took guitar back to the store tech, couldn't duplicate the problem there. Came home, tried yet another cable and amp, still buzzing when nothing metal on the guitar is touched. Figured it was worth a shot, so I plugged my wireless system in and....silence, no hiss, no buzz, nothing but the sound of the guitar. Tried a couple of my other guitars (one Tele, one Strat) with the same "bad" cables and no buzz at all. I have not changed or moved anything in my guitar room for months, so I've ruled out anything new, such as electronics. For whatever reason, the LP doesn't like MY cables at MY house; so, bottom line, wireless when I play it. ;)

Check the resistance between the bridge and the ring of the output jack. Also it from both of the pickup covers to jack ring.

Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it. But if that were true, why didn't we get the same buzz at the shop??

A buzz is a result of the electronic devices around you and their stray. If you have a proper shielding, you won’t hear it or only slightly.

Say you are holding the guitar with your left hand for instance on the neck/fingerboard right , then there is no buzz/noise correct ?
