• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

When my guitar arrived the action was super high and the Floyd was tilted with the fine tuner side way up in the air. Upon further inspection, I saw that it only had two springs and the tremolo claw was screwed in as far as it would go. I added another spring and backed out the claw so the Floyd sat totally level. That lowered the action so that it is perfect, nice and low.

The stock bridge pickup is very good, but the neck is muddy. I am putting Sheptone Wankers with one volume and two tones, no toggle and no coil splitting.

Maybe distracting her with a cat photo works?

Not mine, but though you'd appreciate!
I do appreciate cat yoga. We have three indoor cats now but at one time we had more than 25 outdoor cats living on our wrap around farmers porch.

The elderly woman from next door’s family showed up, put her 25 house cats outside, and took the elder to a nursing home. Suddenly there were 25 starving cats outside, so we adopted all of them and set them up on our covered porch.

We fed them every day and put plastic dog houses that my wife insulated with old blankets on the porch. We had a veterinarian agency come out and catch them, have them spade or neutered, and then release them back into my yard with a snipped off ear tip so we would know that they already got that one.

It was supposed to cost me $50 per cat, but when I called to tell them that every cat I see has a snipped ear, so how much do I owe you? They said that it was so nice that I took in all those cats so I owe them nothing.

I found homes for many of the cats but I kept the majority of them. There are 50 acres of woods behind my house and as I put it, “The woods took them”, over the course of a few years. Eventually there were none left.

The Gibson Les Paul really has many shades - flavors over the years !

I do like the Gibson Les Paul Custom in this thread .
Thank you. I am very happy with it,

For a 33 year old guitar, it looks fantastic with no bumps or nicks at all and just some finish checking and some wearing off of the black on the fine tuners.

Oh, and I am loving the Floyd Rose. I haven’t had one in a while and I forgot how much fun stunt guitar is.

Glad it arrived in great shape! I ordered mine in February. The seller packed it professionally & shipping was only $55. A few months later, I found a nice sunburst Custom Lite for a friend. He was going to be out of town so I ordered it for him. The seller was charging $120 for shipping which I thought was high. When it arrived I was shocked, the worst packing job I had ever seen. It came in a square oversized box. He had a few inches of peanuts on the bottom & set a rectangular empty box over the headstock end of the case to limit it banging from corner to corner. The guitar was just sitting in the case with no packing. Amazingly, it arrived in one piece.

I have a question about pots for this guitar. Since the body is thinner, should I buy short shaft pots?

Not sure about the shafts. I took this photo a while back of my control cavity. Pots look standard to me……….

So, the obvious question here is: Mary Ann or Ginger?

Note to the younger generations: Those are two characters from a TV show called Gilligan’s Island from 1964-67. Ginger was a Marilyn Monroe knockoff and Mary Ann was the country girl-next-door.

The only logical answer is “Both”.

Does it have the belly carve too?

I had a Lite way back when. No twangy bar. Gibson called the finish Firemist....it looked exactly like that. :D

Yes, it sure does. I have seen some Lites with no tremolo. Those are really cool, too. The weight reduction is a back saver.
