First Super Reverb for me, technically I'm picking it up Saturday but it's a today purchase. Uncommon drip edge silver from 1967, with "black lines" on the panel. Transformers date to mid 67, chassis stamp inside is 43rd week of 67 (mid-October), rear panel stamp is from an overlap 67-68 era. A few resistors replaced as well as the electrolytic caps but still has the blue molded caps on the board, 3 prong cable, the standard stuff. Repro grill cloth, knobs, and footswitch.

IIRC this is basically a Blackface amp except for the aesthetics.
Might be a difference in the phase inverter. Looking to learn here- please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe you're correct, the earliest silvers were essentially blackpanels as far as the circuit, AB763

Hmmm, i'd like to see pictures of the baffle and staples? Have you looked to see if the grill cloth was replaced? It's still a great amp and will give up all the goods. Congrats.

The circuit was changed in the summer of 1968. Everything prior to that was a BF circuit.
Congrats….clean amp!!!!

Nice! You can get a great deal on a vintage super compared to the Deluxe or Princeton. I have the 65 RI loaded with Alessandro's. It's too big to lug around so it is planted at home in the big room. Plug the Tele straight in and it's heaven. Lately I've been running only the two top speakers. All four is a bit overwhelming. Someday I'll have a big barn.

I had a '66 BF, it was LOUD. A 335/345/355 really sings through one of those; if it's too loud in a club setting cover the bottom two speakers or turn the amp around. A bluesharp player's delight too, I sold mine to the preeminent harpist in town back in the day.

Yeah, fun to have. shame there aren't many places you can play one the way it was meant to be played.

I still have my old blackface.

Yeah, it was considerably less $ than a Deluxe or Princeton. No one wants to lug a Super or Twin anymore, including me! Too good a deal to pass up, I would have regretted it. It's damn loud past 3 or 4.
