Joseph, my almost 3 year old son, wakes up each morning rubbing his eyes and says "Dad I dream about guitars!"

I have twin teenage daughters. They have always been interested enough in my guitars that they could call out a Les Paul, Strat, Tele or PRS and details about them at a very young age. However, I could never get them interested in playing guitar. They took lessons for one month each a few years back, and their hearts weren't in it (they were doing it for dad, but not for themselves). I love them very much and accept the fact that playing guitar isn't their "thing" -- (at least not just yet!)
So -- I am living vicariously through my nephew, who is 10 years old! He wanted to learn guitar, and I immediately gave him one of my favorite American Standard Teles, amp, tuner, etc. etc. I explained the proper care for the guitar, and he is very particular about wiping it down, storing it in the case, and won't even let his dad carry the case when he goes for lessons! He is really "into" it. He came over for Thanksgiving, and I let him play a vintage Tele, Gibson Crest, a Les Paul, etc.
I told him that I am looking forward, because in a very short period of time I will be learning how to play from HIM.l
I've got another nephew who will also be ready in a few years....![]()
