Hi all, I'm moving to Allen, TX, a northern suburb of Dallas. I need a topnotch guitar tech and amp tech. I'm used to really top of their trade guys, so please - can anyone on the forum refer me to someone for each?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Doesn't that guitar teck who worked on SRV's guitars and Santana's guitars live in Dallas? His name is Rene Martinez

Welcome to DFW! I live by the airport but I work in the Allen area a lot. Rene' Martinez does live here and has done some amazing work for me in the last few years but he is very rarely in town as he works for John Mayer now. There are several other good options though. Here's a few I know of:
1. Kerry Cash at Kerry's guitar shop in Bedford. I've had Kerry work on loads of stuff for me over the last decade and he is very good.
2. Dan at Dallas Guitar Repair. He's located near downtown off of I-75. He's a great guy and does good work.
3. Charlies Guitar Shop. Both of the techs there are very good.

Hope this helps!

Thanks as well. Just got here a few days ago - trying to dig out of moving boxes. I'll certainly knock on their doors soon...

I lived in the Dallas area for 26 years and visited many guitar repair guys. I put my money on Jim Russell, he owns Texas Guitar and Sound. His fret work is second to none.
