Does anybody know what the correct screw size and washer(s)/ nut configuration is for attaching the vibrato arm on a lyre tailpiece for a '69 SG? Believe the screw is 10/32, round-head, philips, but is it 3/4" or 1". Is there a nylon washer between the screw head and the arm or after? Is there some kind of locking washer? Thanks!!!

Screw is 3/4". There should be a nylon washer on both sides of the arm.
This way the arm does not loosen constantly..

There is usually threading in the string bar so a nut isn't necessary.

If its stripped out, you can use a nut to hold it together.
I don't have any experience with using a nut, so I don't know how well it works.

Thanks hagstrom71!!! The SG I recently bought had the wrong size screw and no washers. It would loosen every time you used it.

Two similar threads running on 68/69 SG vibrolas. Great guitars by the way, love mine! Someone in a post from a few years back said they were #10 white nylon washers. Going to my local hardware store tomorrow to confirm.
