1968, both LP Goldtop and LP Custom. The Custom was equipped wirh 2 humbuckers, while the goldtop had P90's..I thought Les Pauls weren't brought back until 69? Confused.
When I first played and learned what a real vintage Les Paul can do I found out about the 1968 models. They are awesome, and the closest thing to vintage 50s guitars that were available. The Standard goldtop only came with P90s, and the Custom was different as it had a maple cap.I thought Les Pauls weren't brought back until 69? Confused.
Used the subjective “better” twice. Poorly I might add.
Objectively, a routed 1968 Les Paul will be lower priced. That’s better.
The most valuable electric guitar by far is the Burst. Old wood and PAFs. P90 sounds “better”? Objectively. No.
The OP knows what he wants and I hope finds it.
