I applaud his internet quest for the ultimate LP that is exactly like the burst believers cover photo.

His followers deserve the outstanding contribution the quest has added to guitar content on YouTube.

Bonjour.

Maybe you can make a deal with him to pick up his castaways, now you are flush and back in the hunt.

lol.. tbh.. I’m already mulling over a LP 58 historic spec “find” .. 🤔
•Good price
•Near home
•Affordable
•Ltd run
•Mismatched top (🥰)
•Factory push pull on neck pu only (🤔 but for tonal variation 🧐)
•Very nice pickups
•would definitely take a low ball offer lol

I would say mainly money and Finished product - just my baseless opinion - definitely not sound if I'm doing the playing .

The difference in the paint is that Tom Murphy had some old paint/finishes analysized. He figured out why the old, original paint acted very different than what they use now on standard Gibson’s. It’s thinner and dries differently vs. the standard paint. It also costs slightly more…

The difference is $4.000 dollars.
Well, it depends on the level of aging applied to the ML guitar. Definitely true that it’s about $4000 between VOS and Ultra Heavy Aged. But it can be as little as $500 between VOS and Ultra Light Aged. Light and Heavy aging falls in between those amounts. The amounts also seem to vary a little depending on the model (Custom, Standard Burst, Goldtop, Junior, etc.).

Maybe the wood had " contaminant " before spraying resulting in non adhesion. Not all guitars the have this lifting problem.. Greasy hands for example.. it doesn't take much..
