Great call on both points! Amazing about Bonzo’s lack of riser but ‘73 was still the dawn of the rock-show-as-spectacle (except for Alice Cooper?). JPJ messed with the “Song Remains” filmmakers by refusing to wear the same outfit for sake of continuity. Those early, rare ‘stache-and-tshirt JPJ shots are among my all-time favorites.Great photos -- I had forgotten that as late as 1973, Bonham wasn't yet on a drum riser. Did that start on the '75 tour? :hmm
Also, JPJ must have shaved his mustache by the end of the '73 tour, as he's clean shaven in TSRTS film.
I'll bet listening to that again brings back some memories Steve?Only time they toured downunder Aussie and NZ.
We saw them at Western Springs in Auckland on Feb 25th '72....... here's a recording. Jimmy had a Marshall stack and used #1, the double neck and the crimson LP. The last pic in the vid is not from the gig.
