Hey all,

I recently scored an Epiphone Les Paul Standard plus top in trans amber and I want to make it look a little nicer.
I'd like to change the machine heads from the standard Kidney bean grovers to the ivory coloured keystone tuners but I'm stuck on what brand to use.

Tonepros offer what looks to be straight swap to the grover tuners but I'm also thinking about the Schaller ones too. I would have to drill and extra hole to fit the schallers but if anyone has any feedback on either, it would be greatly appreciated!

Below are links to both types.

I would lean TonePros [or Gotoh] over Schaller; that's just personal preference.

If you are going to put a Greeny set in, then order reflector knobs too!

I've tried the Schaller and TonePros. I ended up putting Grover 135 tuners on my ES-335's. They stay in tune better.

If you are putting tuners on like these, that have the nut, you do not need to drill a hole for the second screw. Just one screw and the nut will hold things in place fine.

I like your choice. I was able to enjoy it because I took help from this website, and they saved me so much time to enjoy it. They are a writing service provider https://domypaper.com/ website. I hired a professional writer from there, and after that, they did it all. If you are also a student and need help with your writing work, then you can visit them.
I am having a problem in doing it right, can I ask a question?

Edit: Forgot to say that I like your choice.

I got myself a set of the Grover 135 but the string post is too damn long! 28.7mm from the base to the top. Just placing it next to the head stock they looked WAY too big. Disappointing as I would rather have gone with the Grover. The Schaller G-Series at least have 3 different post height options so I'm thinking I'm going to have to go with them.

The WD/Kluson tuners are junk. Stay away from those. I always have had good luck with Gotohs.

you can change just the buttons on your grover tuners to one of the several options from hipshot.
but i want to let you know if you go with the amber buttons you will be able to see a shadow from the screw going through the center of the button that holds it on to the tuner. but if that doesn't bother you or you go with one of the opaque style buttons you should be good to go.
good luck
