Hi everyone. I have done the following JP wiring mod to my Les Paul and everything seems to work as it should except I no longer have the original stock pickup tones.. Ive tried other diagrams in the past and they didnt work either.

It seems the only way to find out with so many bad schematics around is to ask the experts. Does anyone know of a reliable mod that retains the original pickup selection and only activates the mods when a pot is pulled?

Thank you all

The picture below is my edited version of the original, I changed the wire colour from SD to Gibson colours

That diagram doesn't allow for coil series/parallel change, or split as long as the green/white or red/black are tied together,

You were right the black lead that goes to the Bridge pot should actually go to ground, but apart from that the wiring works fine, except for one thing, it worked fine until yesterday when I just pickup up the guitar to play and I noticed the bridge pickup no longer worked in normal stock position, but when I pull on the OOP pot it starts working and I get an incredibly intense "quack" that is much more intense and desirable than the standard middle position which is more subtle, but the really weird thing is how the heck is the bridge pickup working in OOP mode when the neck pickup isn't active? I have tapped the neck pickup and its definitely not active

Can anyone explain this?

This cant be a wiring issue because I havent changed the wiring since the mod was working ok and ive re checked many times

I would love to find out whats going on and how a bridge pickup alone can produce such an intense OOP effect but then not be active when in phase, I tried swapping the phase wires and this reverses the pot effect so up is effect off instead on and vice versa and the bridge pickup is working again but I lose the intense and much wanted OOP option
