I've been really impressed with the range of pedals available and am keen to hear from those using JDM pedals. If you have a favourite please chime in..

I have the Tonemaster and I'm very pleased with it. One side is essentially a Tonebender with a bias knob (very useful for tuning it) and I have the gain cut switch too which was a later feature. I got him to tweak it slightly to fatten the pedal up more akin to a Marshall Supafuzz. The other side is the Rangemaster with an EQ control so you can turn it from just being a treble boost to a general germanium boost. I have to say I se the Rangemaster side more and really love it.

I can't fault the service or quality of the pedal so if you find something you like I'd go for it.

Metropolis, many thanks for your reply and review of the 'Tonemaster' pedal, much appreciated!
Are JDM pedals a recent discovery, or one you've been familiar with for some yrs?

Can I ask how you first came across JDM pedals?
And I assure you that my alleged association with the Spanish Inquisition is a scurrilous rumour without merit. I know nothing of the 'comfy chair' technique used to elicit the truth of superior Fuzz pedals from unsuspecting musicians..
I thought a little Monty Python style humour would balance my occasionally intense questions, hope your okay with me forum bro..

Haha, I do love Monty Python so you're all good there. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I think I bought the pedal in 2017 after looking for a Tonebender clone that could get the Marshall Superfuzz sort of tone, and his offer to tweak the circuit sounded good to me. I also figured it was a good opportunity to try the treble booster at the same time, not realising I'd probably prefer that side of the pedla! I find it hard to compare videos and clips of them online because the guitar and amp affects the tone so much, not to mention playing style, so I went with a builder I liked the sound of and had good conversations with. I still take that approach to buying pickups today as well.

Hope that helps!

PS. Did you ever get my private message about the T-Top questions you asked?
