• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A very interesting companion to the more recent thread about a '75 deluxe - and a case study in changing perceptions. :hmm

The overall score for the Norlin guitar is about the same.

I like the mini-hums especially for rhythm. They fit into the tonal spectrum nicely between the strats and the regular HB guitars. This is important when I show up to a jam and I'm guitar player no.5 or 6.:frank: :frank: :frank: :frank: :frank: :frank:

Holly Molly! What an eye opener. Like I've said before, I'm new here, and boy, there is a lot to learn. Thanks for the bump.! Thanks C Wester. I would have never found this one on my own. (Hell, I can't even find my ass, in the dark, with both hands.):## PS I may get flamed for this one but, who is big Al (I like him already, AND he's from NY, or was)?

Big Al was in full effect when I joined the LPF. Always an entertaining and informative read with strong opinions that sometimes rubbed people the wrong way.

Does anybody really know what happened to him?

I personally prefer mininhumbuckers to either full size humbuckers or P 90's. They sound just right to my ear and I am a big p90 fan. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

One of my best friends has had a '70 Deluxe that he ordered new. He spec'd a one piece non-pancake body. That guitar is one of the best LP's I've ever had the opportunity to play. The mini-hums are to die for.

Do not follow the lemmings over the cliff, uses your own ears and judge each guitar as an individual, not by it date of manufacture.
